Stockton, CA – Over the last six months, the Office of Emergency Services established a core planning team with the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority, CAL FIRE Santa Clara Unit, and key local partners to strengthen a comprehensive assessment of wildfire mitigation needs across San Joaquin County. This team will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the County’s Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).

As of at 8:49 a.m., the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for San Joaquin County from 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, through 4 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025. Prolonged periods of rain and gusty winds may create hazardous driving conditions, including localized roadway flooding and ponding. The weather system is also expected to bring colder temperatures, increasing the risk of cold-related illnesses such as hypothermia, particularly among unhoused community members.
