The San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office is urging residents to take immediate precautions after the invasive glassy-winged sharpshooter was discovered on grape plants sold at Costco stores throughout the wider Northern California Region including the Central Valley.

After consultation with the walnut industry, the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office declares the completion of the 2025 walnut harvest. This establishes the beginning of the San Joaquin County “Walnut Buying Period”. Walnuts that have not been dried or processed shall not be sold to, provided to, purchased by, or received by a non-processing walnut buying operation except during the Walnut Buying Period.

Stockton, CA - Today, the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner formally presented the 2024 Annual Agricultural Crop Report to the Board of Supervisors for approval. The data will be used by the United States Department of Agriculture as part of its annual compilation of detailed agricultural data for every county in America.
