For the first time, representatives of three regional planning agencies spanning major population centers from the Bay Area to the Central Valley and Sierra Nevada foothills are pledging to advocate for a select list of interregional transportation projects known as the “Megaregion Dozen.”

San Joaquin County has recently received the updated 2020 Census Data and will be using that information to redraw the boundaries of the County’s five supervisorial districts. Redistricting takes place every 10 years after the Federal Census, when district boundaries for Federal, State, and local elected offices are redrawn to reflect new population data and shifting populations. The County has created an informational video to help explain the redistricting process, and residents are encouraged to draw their own lines using a mapping tool.

Suicide Prevention Week (September 5-11, 2021) unites communities around the globe to spread awareness about the warning signs of suicide and offer support to those who are suicide loss survivors.

The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors approved additional funding for the Family COVID Assistance Grant and the Small Business Assistance Grant programs for residents and businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the County has distributed approximately $25.6 million to small businesses and families experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic.

San Joaquin General Hospital (SJGH) and Dignity Health, whose parent company is CommonSpirit Health, announced today that they have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to develop an agreement to enter into a long-term affiliation to enhance the ability of SJGH to provide critical care to the residents of San Joaquin County.
