San Joaquin County is beginning the process to redraw the boundaries of the County’s five supervisorial districts. Redistricting takes place every 10 years after the Federal Census, when district boundaries for Federal, State, and local elected offices are redrawn to reflect new population data and shifting populations. Residents of the County are invited to attend any of the three scheduled Redistricting Advisory Committee (RAC) outreach workshops either in-person or virtually.

San Joaquin County is pleased to announce the official launch of the Relief Across Downtown (RAD) Card which is now available throughout the County. The County program aimsto put more spending dollars in consumer wallets for purchases at eligible San Joaquin County restaurants, personal care services, and specialty retailers. In March, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to authorize an allocation of $1,000,000 to be used for the RAD Card Program. The RAD Card Program is now live in San Joaquin County and new businesses are continually signing up to participate in the program.

The Greater San Joaquin County Regional Water Coordinating Committee (GSJCRWCC), a diverse group of regional water management stakeholders, announced that it adopted a significant update to the 2014 Integrated Regional Water Management Plan covering most of San Joaquin County (2020 IRWMP Addendum). Over $6.5 million in state grant funding will be available to the GSJCRWCC region to support water management projects identified in the IRWMP which meet California Department of Water Resources (DWR) requirements.

San Joaquin County is connecting our Sheriff and Probation Officers, Public Works, Office of Emergency Services and other county personnel to FirstNet®—the only nationwide, high-speed broadband communications platform dedicated to and purpose-built for America’s first responders and the extended public safety community. With this tech advancement, we can equip our first responders and public safety personnel with new capabilities and reliable access to critical information while in the field. That allows us to better serve those who live, work and visit San Joaquin County.

Yesterday, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors announced that Robert Rickman from District 5 was officially sworn in during the first Board of Supervisors meeting of 2021. Supervisor Tom Patti from District 3 and Supervisor Miguel Villapudua from District 1 were also sworn in to serve on the Board for an additional four years. In addition, Supervisor Tom Patti was elected Chair of the Board and Supervisor Chuck Winn was elected as Vice-Chair.
