San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services (BHS) and the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) will receive a $6 million grant over four years from the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission’s Mental Health Student Services Act.

San Joaquin County Public Health Officer Dr. Maggie Park told the Board of Supervisors yesterday that COVID-19 case rates, hospitalizations, and ICU admissions are on the decline allowing the lifting of mask mandates and other statewide executive orders. She noted that COVID-19 case rates are dramatically decreasing from 66 to 22.3 cases per 100,000 since February 15, 2022.

San Joaquin County is releasing a draft version of the Development Title which is the County’s zoning code. This comprehensive update will ensure consistency with the policies of the General Plan and provide streamlined opportunities for development in the County. The public is invited to review the draft document and provide comments. This Development Title is an overhaul of rules that existed since the last comprehensive update was adopted in 1992. Preparation of the document involved collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, elected and appointed officials and staff’s observance of the issues highlighted over the past 30 years. This document is intended to balance the modern needs of the development community with the preservation of the agricultural community
