    Now With Three Cases Of COVID-19 Identified In San Joaquin County Response Effortsshift To Community Mitigation Measures That Will Slow The Spread Of COVID-19 In The Community

    San Joaquin County Public Health Services (PHS) confirmed today that two (2) additional county residents have tested positive for the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to three (3). Contact tracing investigations have begun to identify possible exposures, monitor for symptoms and limit the spread of the illness. Public health officials are implementing crucial measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

    San Joaquin County Public Health Services Reports First Confirmed Case Of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

    San Joaquin County Public Health Services (PHS) has received confirmation of the first positive test result for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in a San Joaquin County resident. This individual was a passenger on the Grand Princess cruise ship; however, they were not on the cruise that is currently disembarking in Oakland. The individual became symptomatic and was hospitalized several days ago. No further details about this case will be shared due to patient privacy.

    Hospital Staffing Plan Ensures Patient Safety During Nurses Strike

    San Joaquin County today announced that operations at San Joaquin General Hospital (SJGH) are proceeding as planned and there have been no disruptions in service, due to a staffing plan implemented late last week to ensure patient health and safety during the anticipated nurses strike. The California Nurses Association (CNA) provided notice to the County that registered nurses at the Hospital, Public Health, Behavioral Health, and other County health facilities would strike from this morning Thursday, March 5th, through the morning of Saturday, March 7th.

    San Joaquin County today announced a staffing plan that will ensure patient health and safety during the anticipated nurses strike.
