(Stockton, CA) – San Joaquin County’s Community Development Department (CDD) recently launched SolarAPP+, an automated application for permitting new residential rooftop solar and energy storage systems.
“SolarAPP+ will expedite solar installations and encouraging property owners to invest in generating renewable and sustainable energy,” said Jennifer Jolley, Director, Community Development Department. “It will reduce permitting time and cut costs, which is in everyone’s best interest.”
As part of CDD’s permit system update and in compliance with recently enacted legislation, the County is required to implement an online, automated permitting platform by September 30, 2023. SolarAPP+ will verify code compliance for the majority of residential roof-mounted, retrofit photovoltaic systems and issue permits to contractors in real time.
Eligible system criteria is available on the CDD website.
