Board Approves Supervisor Rickman’s Proposal to Provide $10,046 From Supervisorial District 5 Funds to Tracy Buccaneers Youth Sports for Their Youth Football and Cheer Equipment Needs
March 17, 2026

STOCKTON – At its Board meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors approved Supervisor Rickman’s proposal to provide $10,046 to Tracy Buccaneers Youth Sports to help cover equipment needs costs.

The Tracy Buccaneers Youth Football and Cheer organization is a non-profit guided by a board of directors and numerous dedicated parent volunteers that take pride in empowering the youth of Tracy through the game of football and the sport of cheerleading. They promote the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, physical fitness and hard work, and prepare our youth for the next level of athletic competition. The organization will use this one-time funding to purchase equipment that will help ensure continuance of their programs.

“The benefits of local youth sports programs are obvious to parents and guardians. They see the growth and development of their children building social skills through teamwork and motor skills enhanced through practice and competition. Communication is enhanced, expression measured and matured, and they develop compassion and support for the welfare and successes of their teammates. I will continue support healthy environments for our youth to flourish and it is gratifying to secure these funds in support of the Tracy Buccaneers Youth Football and Cheer organization,” said Fifth District Supervisor Robert Rickman.

The Supervisorial District Funds were re-established by the Board of Supervisors in the 2023-2024 Adopted Budget, to afford each supervisor the opportunity to address district-specific unmet needs. Supervisorial district-funded projects are subject to existing County policy and business practice.
