STOCKTON – At its Board meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors approved Supervisor Rickman’s proposal to provide $545 to the Delta Charter High School Agriculture Department Delta Charter Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter to cover costs of their 2025-2026 Officer Team Retreat.
Located in K-12 schools, FFA supports students interested in agriculture and fosters leadership. The FFA organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
The Delta Charter FFA chapter is starting its 11th year at Delta Charter High School and provides support needed for students to attend various leadership conferences, expose them to varying career and post-secondary education opportunities, as well as advance their knowledge and skills by competing in several professional based competitions throughout the year. These one-time funds will be used strictly in support of the Delta Charter FFA officer retreat for their 2025-2026 officer team.
“It warms my heart to secure funds in support of FFA and 4-H programs as my wife and I enjoyed supporting our own daughters during their tenures in their respective Ag programs. These programs provide our students with important educational opportunities and exposure to our county’s economic driving Ag Industry,” said Fifth District Supervisor Robert Rickman.
The Supervisorial District Funds were re-established by the Board of Supervisors in the 2023-2024 Adopted Budget, to afford each supervisor the opportunity to address district-specific unmet needs. Supervisorial district-funded projects are subject to existing County policy and business practice.
