RecorderThe Recorder’s office is responsible for the recording of deeds, deeds of trust, court decrees, and many other documents affecting title to real property in San Joaquin County. The division also maintains Uniform Commercial Code filings; subdivision maps; and vital statistics, including birth, death, and marriages within the County.
County ClerkThe Office of the Recorder-County Clerk serves as custodian of public records, records real property documents, files Notary Public oaths, issues and registers marriage licenses, files Fictitious Business Names, files certain professional registrations, and files and posts California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents.
Vital RecordsThe Office of the Recorder-County Clerk maintains vital records for births, deaths, and marriages in San Joaquin County from 1851 to present. You can request copy of a Birth, Death, or Marriage Certificate in English or Spanish.
