San Joaquin County Nears Completion of Ballot Counting in Record Time
June 8, 2026

Stockton, CA – The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters Office (ROV) announced today that ballot processing for the June 2, 2026 Statewide Primary Election is nearly complete, with just 2,700 ballots remaining to be reviewed.

In the six days since the Primary Election, ROV staff have already counted 135,763 ballots—an accelerated pace that reflects the office’s strong preparation and commitment to timely, accurate results. Voter participation currently stands at approximately 33.1%.

The remaining ballots consist of damaged ballots requiring careful duplication, ballots needing further review and Conditional Voter Registration (CVR)/Provisional ballots that must undergo additional verification before being counted.

ROV Olivia Hale praised both the community and the team behind the effort:

“Our staff has demonstrated extraordinary dedication and professionalism throughout this process. Working long hours with precision and care, they have ensured that every ballot counted so far reflects the will of our voters. I’m incredibly proud of their commitment to both speed and accuracy, and deeply grateful to the voters of San Joaquin County for making their voices heard in this election.”

The Registrar of Voters Office will continue processing the remaining ballots as part of the official canvass, ensuring every eligible vote is reviewed and counted in accordance with State law. The next report will be posted on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The ROV will certify the 2026 Statewide Primary Election on June 25, 2026, the soonest legal date to certify. Challenged ballots can be cured until June 24 at 5 p.m.
