Stockton, CA – As polls close for the June 2, 2026 Statewide Primary Election, San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters Olivia Hale issued the following statement:
“As voting concludes this evening, we are proud to report a well-run and orderly Election Day across San Joaquin County. This outcome reflects extensive planning, strong voter engagement, and the unwavering dedication of our staff and community partners.
All polling locations opened on time at 7 a.m., and voters participated throughout the day both in-person and by returning their Vote-by-Mail ballots. More than 1,200 election workers and volunteers were assembled Countywide to support voters and uphold a process that is accessible, secure, transparent, and efficient.
As of June 2, 2026, over 81,000 ballots have been cast through Vote-by-Mail. As of 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, approximately 15,000 voters cast ballots in-person.
With voting now complete, our focus shifts to the official canvass. This includes processing Vote-by-Mail ballots received on time, ballots cast at polling places and drop boxes, and reviewing provisional and conditional voter registration ballots to ensure every eligible vote is counted accurately.
I want to thank our election workers for their professionalism and commitment to public service, and our voters for participating in this important civic process. Your engagement continues to strengthen our democratic system and shape the future of our communities.”
