Stockton, CA - The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters (ROV) has announced its comprehensive plan for reporting results for the June 2, 2026, Statewide Primary Election, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, accuracy, and timely public updates.
Polls will close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, at which time the ROV will release its first results. This initial report will include all Vote-by-Mail ballots received through Saturday, May 30, 2026, along with all ballots cast during the early voting period.
Beginning at 8:00 p.m., election results will be updated every two hours throughout the evening until all ballots cast at in-person polling locations are fully reported. These updates will be made publicly available to ensure real-time access for voters, media, and stakeholders.
Following Election Night, the ROV will continue regular updates during the official canvass period. The first report on remaining unprocessed ballots will be issued on Thursday, June 4 by 5:00 p.m., followed by an update on Friday, June 5 by 7:00 p.m. Thereafter, updates will be posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by 7:00 p.m. until all ballots have been verified and counted. The ROV will certify the election results on June 25, 2026, the soonest date possible as required by current State legislation.
“Election Night results are just the beginning of the counting process,” said Olivia Hale, San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters. “Our team is committed to providing timely updates while ensuring every ballot is carefully reviewed and counted accurately. Transparency and public trust are at the core of everything we do.”
Hale emphasized that post-election updates will include all ballots requiring additional processing, such as Vote-by-Mail ballots received after Election Day, provisional ballots, and ballots that need additional signature verification.
“We want voters to understand that every valid ballot counts, regardless of when it is processed,” Hale added. “Our structured reporting schedule ensures the public can follow the process every step of the way with confidence.”
Election results and updates will be available at www.sjcrov.org. For more information, contact the Registrar of Voters Office at (209) 468-VOTE (8683) or Registrar@sjgov.org.
