San Joaquin County Department of Agriculture, in partnership with Amador, Calaveras, Yolo, and Sacramento Counties, are planning to host an Agricultural Pesticide Collection and Disposal Event in the late summer/early fall. This event is specifically for agricultural use (unwanted or legacy) pesticides from growers that farm in the participating counties.
Prior to the event being scheduled, Agricultural Commissioner personnel are gathering information required to determine an accurate cost estimate and bid from a hazardous materials disposal company. This is an amnesty event, and no regulatory action will be pursued as a result of participation. To participate in this event, please pre-register by completing a questionnaire online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/legacypesticides or by scanning the QR code. To complete a hardcopy version of the questionnaire instead, contact the San Joaquin County Department of Agriculture at 209-953-6000. Registration for this event closes June 30th. The disposal event date will be scheduled following the pre-registration deadline.
Please note: This is not an empty container collection event; the containers must contain product to be disposed of. If you are seeking to dispose of empty and properly cleaned containers, San Joaquin County has a free, year-round recycling program. Contact the San Joaquin County Department of Agriculture for further information at 209-953-6000.
