Please expect longer wait times at County solid waste facilities due to required social distancing and Health Orders. 

Dumping on private or public areas is illegal and punishable by fines and jail time.  Report illegal dumping to (209) 468-4400.

Lovelace Materials Recovery Facility and Transfer Station is owned and operated by San Joaquin County. The facility was purchased on July 1, 1977 and remodeled during 1994 and 1995. Lovelace encompasses 15 acres. This site receives an average of 743 tons of waste daily, which is transported to Foothill Sanitary Landfill, on County-owned transfer trucks carrying loads of up to 22 tons per truck. During the year 2021, Lovelace received 269,271 tons of waste.

  • Camper Trailers less than 25 feet in length (remove thermostats and appliances, dismantle the camper trailer into small sections, and bring a Junk Slip from DMV)
  • Five-gallon (or larger) drums
  •  Commercial and household waste
  •  Hazardous or Infectious Waste
  •  Construction/Demolition Waste
  •  Items of sufficient weight, mass, hardness or difficulty in processing that may damage facility equipment
  •  Tires (mounted and unmounted)
  •  Large amounts of dirt or fill
  •  White goods such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units
  • Large Stumps 
 
  •  Loads of soil or gravel
 
  •  Liquid Waste
 
  •  Mobile Homes
 
  •  RVs; camper trailers that are NOT dismantled into small sections
 
  •  Septic Tank Waste
 
  • Toxic Materials

Tarping Requirements All loads must be properly covered or tarped so that flying debris is avoided.  Loads not properly covered or tarped will be charged a DOUBLE disposal fee.

Gates are open:
Mon. through Sun. from 
7:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

Exceptions:
Closed Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. 

NOTE: THE 4:00 P.M. CLOSING TIME AT THIS FACILITY IS STRICTLY ENFORCED. PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO CLOSING TO ALLOW YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME TO UNLOAD.
