The Candidate Services Division of the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters prepares a helpful Candidate Guide for each election which outlines the nomination process. If you have additional questions, scheduling a candidate consultation appointment is recommended.
The candidate filing period lasts only 25 days—beginning 113 days before the election and ending 88 days before the election. Candidates are strongly encouraged to begin the process early to ensure they meet all requirements and deadlines.
