Stockton- Today, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office Charged Scott Sherman, 39, of Lodi, with one count of First-Degree Murder (PC 187) with a sentence enhancement of a Personal Use of a Firearm (PC 12022.54(d)). The maximum sentence for the defendant if found guilty is 50 years to life in prison.

The defendant is charged in the Tuesday morning murder of Felix Makinano, 53, also of Lodi.  Local law enforcement was notified at 3:52 a.m. of gunshots in the area of South School Street in Lodi. When they arrived, they found Mr. Makinano with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
