Stockton- Today, San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced defendant Satnam Sumal, 55, of Tracy was arraigned on the following counts:

• Count 1- PC 187(A) Willful, Deliberate, Premeditated Murder
• Count 2- PC 187(A) Willful, Deliberate, Premeditated Murder
• Special Circumstance PC 190(A)(3) Multiple Murders

“Our thoughts are with the Tracy community,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “Victim-Witness Advocates are readily available to the families as they navigate this difficult time. On behalf of my administration, we offer our sincerest condolences on their tragic loss.”

This is an ongoing investigation with Tracy Police Department. The defendant was remanded to custody and returns to court for further arraignment on May 31, 2023 in Department 8C before the Honorable Judge John Soldati. A copy of the filed complaint can be found below.
