Today, San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced defendant Anastasia Nycole Fuentes, 21, was arraigned on the following charges:

• PC 191.5(A)- Gross Vehicular Manslaughter while Intoxicated
• PC 192(C)(1)- Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence
• VC 20001(A)- Hit and Run Resulting in Injury/Death
• VC 23153(A)- DUI, Causing Bodily Injury
• VC 23153(B) DUI .08 Alcohol, Causing Bodily Injury

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim, Arturo Padilla Jr.’s family during this tragic time,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “Victim-Witness Advocates will be readily available to the family as they navigate the criminal justice system and trial process.”

This is an ongoing investigation with the California- Highway Patrol. The defendant returns to San Joaquin County Superior Court for further arraignment and bail review on April 19 at 8:30AM before the Honorable Judge David Warner. A copy of the filed complaint can be found below:
