General Information

The Revenue and Recovery Division serves the taxpayers of San Joaquin County, departments within the County and individuals who are debtors or who have an interest in monies owed to San Joaquin County.

We work closely with County departments to collect monies due them and assist debtors in the repayment of amounts owing by providing accurate information in a professional, competent and knowledgeable manner. Our approach generates revenue for San Joaquin County which lessens the financial burden on the taxpayer.

Budget/Employees

The Revenue and Recovery Division (RRD) has 15 full-time staff handling over 400,000 active accounts and collects over $5 million in annual revenue for various departments within the county.

  • Direct phone calls
  • Balance & prepare daily deposit
  • Process adjustments
  • Process new accounts
  • Distribute mail
  • Handle address corrections & mail returns
  • Contact debtors for payments and payment arrangements
  • Interview debtors to establish payment plans
  • Locate debtor's assets to attach to satisfy debts
  • Appear in court
  • Prepare legal actions and releases of lien
  • Prepare writs of execution, orders of examinations, creditor's claims
  • Prepare Board orders
  • Prepare and file bankruptcy claims
  • Research accounts for total amount owing and breakdown of charges
