Treasurer - Tax Collector

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office is closed to the public until further notice. While our team is adjusting workplace procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local directives, we will continue to be operational at this time. Our limited staff members will be available by phone and email to provide assistance. We truly appreciate your patience. 


Please note that we do not have the authority to extend the April 10, 2020 property tax delinquency date, as outlined by State Law. We encourage online, phone, and mail payments. The drop box located in front of the County Administration Building will continue to be available for drop off of payments by check or money order. We also encourage cash to be exchanged for a check or money order and mailed to our Office. 


As this situation evolves, we will continue to update our website. In the meantime, we wish you and your family well and thank you for your understanding.

The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office proudly serves the residents and taxpayers of San Joaquin County. Our mission is to ensure the safekeeping of public funds while maintaining liquidity and maximizing earnings in a conservative and prudent matter. We strive to provide the highest level of service in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner as we collect taxes and revenues critical to local government operations that benefit San Joaquin County and its citizens.

Secured Second Installment Due

The second installment of Secured property taxes is due on February 1, 2020 and becomes delinquent if not paid by 5:00 pm on April 10, 2020.

Payments by Mail


Property tax payments must be received or postmarked by the United States Postal Service (USPS) by the delinquent date. Taxpayers who send their payments by mail should be aware that the USPS only postmarks certain mail depending on the type of postage used. Payments should be mailed to:

Payments in the Office


Property tax payments can be made in our office at 44 N. San Joaquin Street, Suite 150, Stockton, CA.


On June 24, 2019, enhanced security measures went  into place at the Administration Building. The security measures include an X-ray inspection system and walk-through metal detectors for all staff and visitors entering the Administration Building. Due to security screenings taxpayers should plan for additional time, especially on delinquent dates.
