Nursery
The Mission of the Nursery Program is to prevent the introduction and spread of agricultural pests through nursery stock and protect agriculture and the consumer against economic losses resulting from the sale of inferior, defective or pest-infested nursery stock.
License to Sell Nursery Stock
Growers or producers that are selling nursery products, such as plants or trees, are required to have a California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) license in order to sell.
A License to Sell Nursery Stock is required for any person who sells plants for planting, propogation, or ornamentation in California. The sale of nursery stock without a valid license is a violation of CDFA Code Section 6721.
