Welcome from the Agricultural Commissioner / Sealer of Weights & Measures
The San Joaquin County Office of the Agricultural Commissioner serves as both the Agricultural Commissioner and Sealer of Weights and Measures, protecting a $3.2-billion agricultural economy while ensuring fairness in commerce for residents and businesses.
The office enforces agricultural laws that ensure safe farming practices, protect crops from pests, and promote responsible pesticide use. It supports local growers through export certification, quality verification, and pest monitoring to safeguard the county’s farms and natural resources.
The Weights and Measures division promotes fair commerce by inspecting scales, pumps, and labels to ensure accuracy and protect consumers. These efforts help maintain trust, productivity, and economic stability within San Joaquin County’s agricultural community.
