San Joaquin County Presidential Primary Election Update
March 1, 2024

Stockton, CA – The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters (ROV) will randomly select precincts for a manual tally of one percent (1%) of the ballots cast in the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election. This selection will take place on March 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters’ Office, located at 44 N. San Joaquin Street, Suite 350, Stockton, CA.

The ROV’s office will start retrieving the voted ballots from the precincts selected during the random draw for the 1% manual tally beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024.The entire tally process is open to the public and will proceed daily, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, unless otherwise instructed by the ROV. The manual tally must conclude by Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters’ Office, 44 N. San Joaquin Street, Suite 350, Stockton, CA.

The manual tally serves to validate the ballot tabulation conducted by the electronic voting systems prior to certifying the election results. Out of the 214 voting precincts for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election, three will be selected. If a contest is not included in the 1% manual tally, an additional precinct containing that contest will be tallied.

Upon completion of the 1% manual tally and official certification of the election results by the Registrar of Voters, the final official election results will be published on the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters website, www.sjcrov.org, and submitted to the California Secretary of State in the Official Statement of Votes Cast.
