2016-17 Unsecured Personal Property Taxes Due

Shabbir A. Khan, San Joaquin County Treasurer-Tax Collector has mailed personal property tax bills to approximately 16,500 business, boat, and aircraft owners in San Joaquin County as of July 22, 2016.  Payment is now due and will be delinquent if not paid by August 31, 2016.

Owners of personal property in San Joaquin County such as a boat or aircraft or have leased or owned fixtures and equipment related to a business on January 1, 2016 must pay the tax.

To view your taxes or pay online using a credit card, debit card or e-check, go to http://www.sjgov.org/treasurer or by phone, dial (866) 954-1829. A convenience fee is charged by the company supporting the website/phone service.  This convenience fee is in addition to the personal property tax amount paid.  There is no convenience fee for e-check payments.

If you do not receive a tax bill by August 1, 2016, call the San Joaquin County Tax Collector’s Office, Unsecured Section, at (209) 468-2133. Failure to receive a tax bill shall not relieve the lien of taxes, nor shall it prevent the imposition of penalties.

Payments can also be made at the San Joaquin County Tax Collector’s Office located at 44 N. San Joaquin Street, Suite 150, Stockton, CA (entrance is on the Weber Avenue side of the building).  Our normal business hours open to the public are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.  However, we will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
