Shabbir A. Khan, San Joaquin County Treasurer-Tax Collector, hereby announces that 2016-2017 annual secured tax bills have been mailed to all property owners, at the addresses shown on the Assessor's roll. If you own property in the county and do not receive a tax bill by November 1, 2016 contact the Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office at 44 North San Joaquin Street, Suite 150, Stockton CA 95202 or call (209) 468-2133.
Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer of the responsibility to make timely payments.
The first installment of 2016-2017 taxes are due and payable on November 1, 2016 and will become delinquent if not paid by 5:00 p.m. on December 12, 2016; thereafter a 10% penalty will be added. Both installments may be paid when the first installment is due. The December 10, 2016 first installment delinquency date falls on a Saturday in 2016, therefore, the date of delinquency is Monday, December 12, 2016.
The second installment is due and payable on February 1, 2016 and will become delinquent if not paid by 5:00 p.m. on April 10, 2017; thereafter a 10% penalty and $10.00 cost will be added.
Property tax may be paid online or by phone. A convenience fee will be charged by the company supporting these services when paying online or by phone with a credit card or debit card. The convenience fee is in addition to the property taxes paid. For your convenience, e-check (electronic check) payments are accepted free of charge.
