Surplus Furniture and Equipment

San Joaquin County Purchasing (Purchasing) has partnered with The Public Group (www.publicsurplus.com) and GovDeals(www.govdeals.com) to process all useable furniture and equipment that has been deemed surplus by a County department.

Purchasing has developed a three-tier system for redistribution of surplus items:

  • Tier 1 - available to County departments free of charge.
  • Tier 2 - available to non-profit organizations for a small dollar amount.
  • Tier 3 - available for auction to the public where all funds deposited back to the County.


SJCO Purchasing also utilizes GovDeals auction site www.govdeals.com. There is no tier system for GovDeals.
