Turn in used or expired medicaltions for safe disposal



If you can’t attend this event, acceptable medications (no narcotics accepted) and sharps may be taken to the County’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility, free of charge during normal operating hours.  See links for details and restrictions.

The County also offers numerous kiosks located throughout the County to collect Medications and Sharps during these locations' normal operating hours.

The County HHW Facility and medication kiosks cannot accept controlled substances (narcotics). These may be brought to the DEA event.


Directions for proper disposal:

  • Remove pills from containers and packaging
  • Consolidate loose pills in plastic bag
  • Remove personal information from packaging
  • Medical sharps accepted only at select locations
  • Medical sharps accepted only in sealed bio-hazard or other sturdy containers
