The Sheriff’s Custody Division is a complex operation that is managed by one captain, eight lieutenants, and an Inmate Programs Director in compliance with the California Code of Regulation Title 15, Division 3.

Each of the eight lieutenants divided responsibilities consist of but are not limited to management of the John Zunino Jail Complex and Honor Farm Complex (Intake, Main Jail, Honor Farm), Inmate Work Programs Unit (Alternative Work Program, Electronic Monitoring Program, Work Furlough Program, and Alcohol Monitoring Program), Transportation/Hospital Security contracts, Medical Services, Maintenance and Food Services Liaison, Inmate Population Management, and Realignment/AB 109 Liaison and Construction Project Management. The Inmate Program Director provides a variety of programs and services to assist the offenders with their successful reintegration into the community.

The daily goals of the estimated 270 Correctional Officers, Deputies, and Support Staff that run the 24/7 day to day operations is to provide the highest quality of service to the general public. The Board of State and Community Corrections rated capacity is 1,550.
