District Attorney's Office Files Charges Against Former Stockton Police Department Officer, Nicholas Bloed

Today, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Nicholas Bloed, a former sergeant with the Stockton Police Department. Yesterday, the United States Marshals Service took the defendant into custody without incident.

“In my 35 years in this office, these are some of the most reprehensible allegations I have encountered against a police officer,” said District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar. “I wholeheartedly commend the victims who came forward to share their trauma. It took courage and strength to report the awful actions against them, especially in light of the defendant’s profession.”

The defendant was employed by Stockton Police Department beginning in March 2008 until his recent termination. It is alleged that the defendant committed multiple crimes which occurred while he was on duty. The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office filed charges upon receipt of finalized investigative reports from the Stockton Police Department, but have been working collaboratively with Stockton Police Department to detail the alleged criminal activity. The complaint can be found below listing the charges against defendant Bloed.

We are reaching out to the community for your assistance. If you have had contact with the defendant and feel you have been victimized, please email the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office Public Integrity Unit at publiccorruption@sjcda.org.

The defendant has been remanded to custody and returns to court on November 18, 2022 for bail review.
