Bureau of Investigations Welcomes Four New Employees

The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office Bureau of Investigations Chief James Bojko announces BOI has welcomed four new employees, with two of the employees being sworn in and issued the Oath of Office last week.

The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office and Bureau of Investigations are proud to welcome Vito Cipponeri, Sarah Harrington, Jeffrey Tacazon, and Erika Urrea to the team.

Vito Cipponeri served as a police officer for Stockton Police Department and Lodi Police Department before coming to the District Attorney's Office.

Sarah Harrington brings her experience from the San Joaquin County Probation Department to her role as Investigative Assistant with BOI.

Jeffrey Tacazon has been in law enforcement for 25 years- with Stockton Police Department and Morgan Hill Police Department respectfully.

Erika Urrea joined the BOI team after 16 years at Lodi Police Department. Investigator Urrea is well known for her heroic act in saving a man from an oncoming train. In 2021, she received Governor Newsom's Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor.

Under the authority of the District Attorney, the Bureau of Investigations functions as an independent law enforcement agency. BOI and staff are tasked with handling cases outside the scope of other local law enforcement agencies and assist in complex investigations ranging from welfare fraud to public integrity to officer involved critical incidents.
