The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office is pleased to announce their selection as a recipient of funding through the Child Abuse Treatment (AT) Program of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). The grant award of $257,500 will be utilized during the performance period of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
The purpose of the AT Program is to provide comprehensive psychotherapy services to children victimized by abuse and/or neglect. Priority will be given to child victims who are underserved or are dependents of the court and involved in the child welfare system. Services for family members of child victims are also available to help with the treatment of the child.
Victims will have immediate access to an onsite mental health clinician at the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center. The provision of services will be a collaborative effort of the District Attorney's Office, Victim Witness, Child Protective Services, and the Child Abuse Prevention Council. This critical resource is one of many wrap-around services provided for victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, stalking, elder abuse, and human trafficking at the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center.
The creation of the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center two-years ago eliminated the burden on traumatized victims to travel to multiple places to obtain a variety services. Victims in trauma only need develop the courage to walk through a single door to find all the services needed to begin their journey to hope and healing.
