On Tuesday, May 21, 2019 Revels, 33, was convicted by a jury for the death of a two-year-old in his care. Charges of conviction include: assault on a child under 8 years of age causing death (Penal Code section 273ab) and child endangerment (Penal Code section 2673a(a).)

The jury heard testimony that on October 7, 2016, the two-year-old child of Revels's girlfriend was severely beaten while the child's mother was at her job in the Bay Area. After the child sustained the injuries, Revels drove to Dublin from Stockton, passing a number of hospitals,to give the child to the mother. During the nearly one hour drive to Dublin, the child died in Revels's vehicle.

Revels then absconded; but, was arrested less than a week later.

Revels will return to court on June 14th for sentencing. Revels is facing a term of 25 years in state prison to life for the assault on a child charge; and 6 years in state prison for the child endangerment charge.

This case is being prosecuted by the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Child Abuse Sexual Assault (CASA) Unit of the Family Crimes Division.
