STOCKTON, CA – Randy Howard Francis, 55, was convicted late last week of murdering his 86-year-old mother, following an attack at her apartment in March of 2015.
That attack happened in the 7300 block of Pacific Avenue in Stockton. Imagene Francis was unresponsive when located and taken to a hospital. She died more than 2 months after the incident. An autopsy showed she died from strangulation.
Stockton Police learned of the attack from the 71-year-old apartment manager who said Francis pulled a knife on him, tied him up, and eventually took his truck.
About 10 days after the attack, Francis was found inside the manager’s truck at the Berkeley Marina.
Mr. Francis was found guilty of Murder, Elder Abuse, Criminal Threats, Robbery, Kidnapping and Carjacking. He returns to court on November 28 for sentencing. A 1st degree murder conviction brings a sentence of 25 years to life. There could be additional time imposed for other crimes.
