People v. William Balser, 59, and Robin Robinson-Balser pled guilty Friday, June 2, 2017, to two counts of Penal Code section 288.5 (continuous sexual abuse of a minor) for molesting his girlfriend's two daughters in the mid 1990's. Balser will be sentenced to 16 years in state prison on July 31, 2017.

June 1st, 2017 - Yesterday at the request of the Lathrop (CA) Police Department and the San Joaquin District Attorney's Office an arrest warrant with bail set at $500k was issued for CARL JOSEPH MEANS (age 36) of Merced CA who previously served as Plant Manager for the Lathrop facility of AMG Resources Corporation, a metal recycler.

STOCKTON, CA - On May 24, 2017, a San Joaquin County Jury found a Stockton woman, Cindy Berry guilty of welfare fraud, grand theft and perjury. Over a 4 year period, the 31 year old defendant collected over thirty thousand dollars in CalFresh benefits (food stamps), while failing to claim the father of her children was living with her and providing a separate income. Deputy District Attorney Kelly McDaniel was the prosecutor on the case.

San Joaquin County has formed an Illegal Fireworks Task Force comprised of local fire and law enforcement agencies in the County. The goals of the task force are to 1) educate the public about the laws relating to illegal fireworks, and 2) to enhance enforcement efforts within the County.

STOCKTON, CA - On Wednesday May 3, 2017, before Judge Ron Northup of the Stockton Superior Court, Juan Antonio Contreras, age 50, of Stockton plead guilty to Felony Grand Theft from his ex-employer Odyssey Landscape Company of Lodi. He admitted to Aggravated White Collar Crime sentencing enhancements that the taking was in excess of $200,000.
