STOCKTON – At its Board meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors approved Supervisor Rickman’s proposal to provide $19,382 to the West High School Home Field Advantage Booster Club to support the West High School Football Program equipment needs.
The Home Field Advantage Booster Club is a nonprofit organization that helps all sports at West High fundraise for their sport and strives to boost parent involvement in their students’ extracurricular activities. A subaccount for the Merrill F. West High School Football Program has been established and this approved funding will be used strictly in support of the Football Program. These one-time funds will be used to cover the costs of much-needed new equipment.
“I encourage students to participate in any school sponsored extracurricular activities, but I especially believe in the importance of teamwork and the character-building aspects of youth sports. It is gratifying to be in a position to secure these funds and support the West High School Football Program,” said Fifth District Supervisor Robert Rickman.
The Supervisorial District Funds were re-established by the Board of Supervisors in the 2023-2024 Adopted Budget, to afford each supervisor the opportunity to address district-specific unmet needs. Supervisorial district-funded projects are subject to existing County policy and business practice.
