The San Joaquin County District Attorney's office has presented the CASE Program to the citizens of San Joaquin County since 2006. We are a leader in the state for this program. We have trained members of the California District Attorney's Association on the CASE program for over a decade.
The CASE program provides critical information necessary to keep senior citizens from becoming victims of fraud and abuse. This is accomplished by a partnership between the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office and our community to share the information with our senior citizens.
The District Attorney's Office staff provides the materials, the information, and conducts presentations at times convenient to the organization. We are available to local organizations to conduct Power Against Fraud Seminars. These seminars provide information on a number of subjects including: how to protect yourself from physical and financial abuse, how to check credit reports, how to avoid telemarketing and online scams, and how to avoid investment scams.
Finally, the District Attorney's Office has a dedicated Elder Fraud Line (209) 468-2488. This is a phone number senior citizens can call to get a live person to assist them if they have been victimized, have any questions about the criminal justice system, or are in need of services.
