The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s office is committed to public safety and growing resources for our valley residents to establish the Public Safety, Gang, and Drug Intervention and Prevention grant. The funding is allocated for local community-based organizations that are dedicated to productively engaging area youth and providing services to quell gang and/or narcotic related activities in our burgeoning community. This year, San Joaquin County has allocated up to $250,000 to be divided among selected organizations.
Many groups in the area are already making great strides in reducing the number of violent crimes in the community, and we are eager to support organizations as they undertake this challenge. San Joaquin County recognizes the insight we have right here in our community to assist our youth by collectively building ideas through discussion and engagement.
We are looking for local organizations who are implementing innovative strategies to support various law enforcement agencies throughout the county in our effort to stop the growing presence of nefarious activities targeting our youth.
We have created a straightforward application which can be accessed on the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s website. The application deadline is March 15, 2019. The applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of San Joaquin County agency representatives. For all questions about the program and process, contact Assistant District Attorney Scott Fichtner at (209) 468-2400 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
