| Residents may transport no more
than 15 gallons or 125 pounds of Household Hazardous Waste per any one trip*
to San Joaquin County's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility.
It is important to remember that proper handling and
transportation of hazardous waste can reduce the chance of accidental
spills.
For your safety and the safety of the Hazardous Waste
Specialists, please:
- Never mix products.
- Keep products in original containers -
containers containing gasoline or other fuels are not returned to
customers
- Label products not in original containers.
- Secure products so they won't tip over, spill and/or
leak.
- Secure the entire load in your vehicle's trunk area,
truck bed or trailer.
- Store products away from the passenger compartment
of your vehicle.
If you have any questions about how to handle or transport
materials
or if you have larger quantities of HHW to dispose of or special needs call
(209) 468-5670 to
speak to a Hazardous Waste Specialist. These specialists
are available to provide further information and to set up an appointment
for your delivery to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility if necessary. This
service is FREE for San Joaquin County residents.
*the only exception to this rule is used oil. Households may legally transport up to 55
gallons of used oil per trip to an authorized used oil collection center.
