Where are the county landfills located and how do I get there?
San Joaquin County Public Works owns and/or operates two sanitary landfills
(Foothill Sanitary Landfill and North County Recycling Center and Sanitary
Landfill) and one Materials Recovery Facility, or MRF, (Lovelace Materials
Recovery Facility and Transfer Station) within the county. For locations and

What days and hours are the landfills open?
The county's three facilities are open seven (7) days a week, Sunday through
Saturday, except for specified holidays. All of the facilities close at 5:00
p.m. For opening hours and holidays when the sites are closed, please

What items are accepted, or not accepted, at the landfills and
MRF?
County-owned landfills and the Materials Recovery Facility accept only
non-hazardous wastes. Each site maintains a list of acceptable and unacceptable
wastes. Please

Where can I take my used motor oil and oil filters for
recycling?
Several locations within San Joaquin County offer free recycling services for
motor oil. For a list by city, please

We just moved into the area. Who do we contact for trash,
recycling, and yard waste services?
Some cities within San Joaquin County own and operate their own trash
collection services, including curbside recycling and yard waste collection.
Other cities and San Joaquin County contract with private collectors for some or
all of these services. Please

Where may I redeem my California Refund Value (CRV) bottles
and cans?

Where do I take my household hazardous waste?
San Joaquin County's
Permanent Household Hazardous Waste
Consolidation Facility opened on August 14,
2003. The new facility is open to the public and small businesses,
operating every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Small
business (CESQG) waste accepted by appointment only (877)747-9699. Collection events
are no longer available.
