Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Recycling

Residents of San Joaquin County have the opportunity to recycle unwanted computer monitors and televisions.  These items will be accepted* for FREE at:

Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Disposal Facilities

Computer monitors and televisions contain picture tubes called cathode ray tubes (CRTs). Each CRT contains approximately 5 to 7 pounds of lead. Because they contain large amounts of lead and other hazardous materials, CRTs are considered hazardous waste and may not be landfilled. The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) sponsors a Web page for reuse and recycling sources at http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/Electronics/Collection/RecyclerSearch.aspx.
