The Recorder - County Clerk serves as custodian of public records, recorder of real property documents, and notary public bonds. The office also issues and registers marriage licenses, vital statistics and other public documents. The office is committed to providing cost effective customer service to everyone we serve.
Prop 8 Ruling - Until the ruling on Proposition 8 is entered, it is not in effect. The Court has stayed entry pending consideration of a motion to stay the ruling while it is appealed. As a result, the County Clerk/Recorder may not yet issue licenses to same-sex couples.
