As the Floodplain Administrator for the
National Flood Insurance Program in unincorporated San Joaquin County, the
Public Works Department is coordinating the submittal of comments about the
new flood zone maps to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Comments regarding the preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps will only be
considered by FEMA if accompanied by technical data supporting the comments.
Technical data would consist, for example, of survey information,
geotechnical studies, or hydraulics and hydrology data. Please call the San
Joaquin County Department of Public Works' Flood Management Division at
(209) 468-3605 if you would like to make further inquiries about submitting
comments.
