Accreditation Orientation and Testing Schedule

Accreditation orientation/testing are held on the 2nd Thursday each month at 0930 hours. You must be pre-registered to attend.

Frequently Asked Questions


Q: How do I get accredited in San Joaquin County?

To be eligible for initial paramedic accreditation you must:
  1. Be Licensed as a Paramedic in California;
  2. Be affiliated with and sponsored by a San Joaquin County (SJC) ALS provider;
  3. Submit an application with application fee; copy of a valid CA driver’s license, CA identification card, or military ID; copy of your valid CA Paramedic License;
  4. Must pass the SJC accreditation test
Q: Where is the accreditation test given?

The accreditation test is given at the SJC EMS Agency office by appointment only.


Q: What is the accreditation test?

The accreditation test is an open book, non-timed exam on local policy and protocols. The applicant must pass the test with 95% to become accredited. The test normally takes between 2 and 4 hours.
