Underground Storage Tanks
(UST)
The purpose of this program is to protect public health and the environment from exposure to hazardous materials stored in underground storage tanks (USTs). The primary focus is on protection of groundwater from contamination. Activities include inspection, permitting, monitoring, repair, installation and removal of USTs. UST sites with identified contamination are referred to the EHD Site Mitigation Unit for cleanup oversight.
