San Joaquin County

U-Visa Program (Request for Form I-918 Supplement B)

The Victims of Criminal Activity, U Nonimmigrant Status (U visa) is set aside for victims of crimes who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse and are willing to assist law enforcement and government officials in the investigation or prosecution of the criminal activity.

NOTICE: The Office of the District Attorney has been the county’s “certifying official” for applications for U-visa certification since August 2007. Due to 3 successive years of budget cuts and a resultant 34% reduction in staff, this service is no longer feasible.

Effective Monday, April 30, 2012, the Office of the District Attorney will no longer provide this service. Applicants seeking U-visa certification will be referred back to the applicable law enforcement agency for possible processing.
