                 Agencies dealing with children

D)           1 Representative from the District Attorneys Office

E)           1 Representative from Mental Health Services

F)           1 Representative from Law Enforcement

G)           1 Representative from Juvenile Probation Department

H)           1 Representative from the Pediatrics Profession

I)           1 Representative from Education

J)           1 Representative from Foster Care

 

TERM:                                   3 Year Terms.

 DUTIES:                                1.  To provide a forum for interagency cooperation & coordination                                               in the prevention, detection, treatment, & legal processing of                                                 Child Abuse cases.

2.  To promote public awareness of the abuse & neglect of children                                                                 & the resources available for intervention & treatment.

3.  To encourage & facilitate the training of professionals in the                                                                         detection, treatment, & prevention of child abuse & neglect.

4.  To recommend improvements in services to families & victims.

5.  To encourage & facilitate community support for child abuse &                                                                                 neglect programs.

6.  To introduce & monitor legislation pertaining to children.

7.  To conduct needs assessments & identify gaps in services.

8.  To spearhead community education on the needs of children.

9.  To make recommendations on the allocation of AB 2994 &

                                                     AB 1733 funds.
