NAME:                                   EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE COMMITTEE

LEGAL AUTHORITY:         Section 1752, California Health & Safety Code; Board Order

& B-87-293 dated 3/3/87.  B-92-459 dated 3/24/92.

 

MEMBERSHIP,                   18 Members appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

QUALIFICATIONS, 1 - Health Care Services Representative

& RESIDENCY                     1 - Health District Officer - Public Health Services

REQUIREMENTS:              1 - EMS Agency Medical Director

1 - Ambulance Company Representative

3 - Acute Care Hospital Administrative Representatives

1 - Emergency Room Physician, Internist, or Surgeon

3 - Law Enforcement Representatives - 1 of which will be from

the C.H.P. & 2 of which will come from the San Joaquin                                                                   County Sheriff’s Department & the City Police.

1 - Stockton Fire Department Representative

1 - San Joaquin Delta Community College Health Science Division

      Representative

1 - Office of Emergency Services Representative

2 - Emergency Room Registered Nurses

1 - County Fire Chiefs’ Association Representatives

1 - Professional Training Representative

 

TERM:                                   3 Year Terms. 

 

 

DUTIES:                                The Committee shall, at least annually, review the operations of

each of the following: A) Ambulance services operating within

the County; B) Emergency Medical Care offered within the

County; C) First Aid practices in the County.  Every Emergency

Medical Care Committee shall, at least annually, report to the

Advisory Health Council, the State Department, & the Areawide

Comprehensive Health Planning Agency for its area, their observa-

tions & recommendations relative to its review of the ambulance

services, emergency medical care, & first aid practices in that

County.  The Emergency Medical Care Committee shall submit

its observations & recommendations to the County Board of

Supervisors which it serves & shall act in an advisory capacity

to the County Board or Boards of Supervisors which it serves &

to the County Department having charge of emergency medical

services, on all matters relating to emergency medical services,

including first aid, ambulance services, communications, medical

equipment, training, personnel, facilities, & any other matters

relating to emergency medical services as directed by the Board or

Boards of Supervisors.

 

MEETING DATE                 4th Monday of each month at various locations from l:30--3:30

& LOCATION:                      p.m.  Exceptions will be mailed.  Two months out of the year, they                                                         meet on the third Monday of each month (May & November).
