1 POSITION ON THE CHILDRENS SERVICES COORDINATING COMMISSION FOR

COMPENSATION: None
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Board Order B-86-1705 dated 9/23/86; Board Order B-89-1084 dated 8/1/89; Board Order B-94-12 dated 1/4/94, B-99-322 (3/22/99) modifications to composition.
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: 17 Members appointed by the Board of Supervisors A) 5 Community Representatives (1 from each Supervisorial District) B) 4 Representatives from Community-Based Social Service Agencies dealing with children C) 1 Representative from the Childrens Services Department D) 1 Representative from the District Attorneys Office E) 1 Representative from Mental Health F) 1 Representative from Law Enforcement G) 1 Representative from Juvenile Probation Department H) 1 Representative from the Pediatrics Profession I) 1 Representative from Education J) 1 Representative from Foster Care
TERM: 3 Year Terms
DUTIES: 1. To provide a forum for ineragency cooperation and coordination in the prevention, detection, treatment, and legal processing of Child Abuse cases. 2. To promote public awareness of the abuse and neglect of children and the resources available for intervention and treatment 3. To encourage and facilitate the training of professionals in the detection, treatment, and prevention of child abuse and neglect. 4. To recommend improvements in services to families adn victims. 5. To encourage and facilitate community support for child abuse and neglect programs. 6. To introduce and monitor legislation pertaining to children 7. To conduct needs assessments and identify gaps in services. 8. To spearhead community education on the needs of children 9. To make recommendations on the allocation of AB 2994 and AB 1733 funds.

1 POSITION ON THE MENTAL HEALTH BOARD FOR

COMPENSATION: None. Reimbursement for Regional or Statewide Meeting may be compensated by the local Mental Health Agency when funding is available.
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5604 (Amended 11/92) and Board Order B-93-422 dated 3/23/93.
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Must be resident of San Joaquin County. 11 Members - 1 Person must be a representative of the Board of Supervisors; 50% of the Membership must be consumers or parents, spouse, sibling or adult children of consumers of services, who are received or have received mental health services. At least 20% of the members shall be families of consumers.
TERM: 3 Year Terms with the requirement that terms shall be equitably staggered so that approximately 1/3 of the appointments shall expire annually.
DUTIES: A) To review and evaluate the community's Mental Health needs, services, facilities, and special problems. B) To review any County agreement entered into pursuant to Section 5650 C) To advise the governing body and the local Mental Health Director as to any aspect of the local Mental Health Program. D) To review and approve the procedures used to insure citizen and professional involvement at all stages of the planning process. E) To submit an Annual Report to the governing body on the needs and performance of the County's Mental Health System. F) To review and make recommendations on applications for the appointment of a local Mental Health Director G) To review and comment on the County's performance outcome data and communicate it's findings to the State Mental Health Commission. H) To accept additional duties or responsibilities transferred by the governing body.

1 POSITION ON THE TRACY PUBLIC CEMETERY DISTRICT FOR

COMPENSATION: None for meetings; actual and necessary expenses for out-of-town meetings.
LEGAL AUTHORITY: Chapter 6, Paragraph 8950 of the California Health and Safety Code
MEMBERSHIP, QUALIFICATIONS, & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: The District shall be governed and managed by 3 or 5 Trustees, as specified in the Petition for Formation of the District. The trustees shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors of the County...Paragratph 8951. The trustees shall be appointed from the electors residing within the district (i.e. Tracy Cemetery District - an area bounded by Alameda County on the west; Stanislaus County on the south; San Joaquin River on the east; & Old River on the North)
TERM: 4 Year Terms
DUTIES: To govern and manage (through daily employed professional Cemeterian) the affairs of the District. They shall be guided by all laws and regulations set forth by the California Health and Safety Code as interpreted by the courts and by such regulations that are promulgated by the County Board of Supervisors.
