Victor Mow, a native of San Joaquin County, has been active
in the community for more than three decades.
He was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2000 and served as Chairman
of the Board in 2002. He was
elected to a second term in March of 2004 and currently serves as the 2007
Chairman. Supervisor Mow represents District 3, a diverse district
that includes north and west Stockton, the City of Lathrop, north Manteca and
much of the Delta. Supervisor Mow has a long history of public service and came to the Board as a past Stockton City Council member where he was elected twice and served a term as Vice Mayor. Supervisor Mow’s service to San Joaquin County has been
recognized in many areas: · Recipient of San Joaquin County Employee of the Year for 1993 · Awarded the Service to Mankind Award by the Sertoma Club · Inducted into the Edison High Hall of Fame in 1994 · Recipient of the Leadership Stockton’s Outstanding Achievement for Community Involvement Award · Received the Alumnus of the Year Award from his alma mater, California State University, Stanislaus, in 2004 · Awarded the Chinese Cultural Society Citizen of the Year in April, 2005 · Selected Grand Marshal of the Chinese New Year Parade in February, 2006 · Recipient of the Lotus Celebration for Public Service in May, 2006 Supervisor Mow was born in Stockton on November 15, 1941. He graduated from Edison High School, received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Pacific and his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Stanislaus.
